UK homeowners are no longer cashing in on the value of their properties to fund spending, official figures show.
Quarterly Bank of England figures on housing equity withdrawal showed a second successive negative reading between July and September.

How low will house prices go in 2009?

Which? calling on NatWest to justify repossession

Which? is taking NatWest to task for withdrawing the mortgage of paying customers suddenly and without giving a reason.
NatWest mortgage customers Marian and Peter Addyman could lose their home as, they say, NatWest suddenly withdrew their £226,000 mortgage in September.
This came six months after the couple were given a new deal by the lender.
